What Nebraska Buyers Should Know
As a buyer in Nebraska, you must register the vehicle within 30 days for buyer. Because Nebraska requires a notarized bill of sale, obtain one from a licensed notary public before visiting the DMV.
Bring the notarized bill of sale, the signed certificate of title with accurate odometer disclosure, proof of insurance, valid identification, and payment for taxes and registration fees.
The bill of sale alone does not transfer legal ownership. Title transfer with the Nebraska motor vehicle agency is required to register the vehicle in your name.
