Most US states do not require notarization for a standard private motor vehicle bill of sale. Both parties' signatures are typically sufficient.

We do not support document creation for states requiring notarization: Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and West Virginia.

Even in states where it is not required, some sellers and buyers choose notarization for high-value vehicles or when a buyer wants extra assurance.
